Despite this trend, Black Friday 2024 remains the busiest day of the year for Tweakwise. This year, we processed a staggering 67,614,075 requests, averaging 783 requests per second. This marks a 12% increase compared to last year’s 60.4 million requests—a solid year-over-year growth.
In terms of performance, Tweakwise delivered as always. The average response time during Black Friday was 44ms, with a median response time of 24ms—on par with last year’s stellar results. This consistency highlights the reliability and power of our platform during e-commerce’s most demanding periods.
Every year, we compare the average daily requests from July to September with Black Friday to gauge its impact. Between 2021 and 2023, Black Friday traffic showed increases ranging from 34% to 77%. This year, however, the increase was 23.3%, our lowest to date, signaling a gradual normalization of Black Friday extremes.
Interestingly, our traffic data aligns with reports of Black Friday becoming less of a singular peak. While the morning and afternoon of Black Friday saw significantly higher requests per second, the evening was in line with regular days. Cyber Monday, often touted as Black Friday’s sibling, matched the daily traffic levels of other Black Week weekdays.
Reports from iDEAL indicate that the Monday of Black Week took the crown for most transactions this year, but for us, Black Friday still stood tall as the busiest day. However, the days surrounding it—especially from Monday through Friday of Black Week—are proving to be just as significant.
As the e-commerce landscape continues to evolve, these insights help us stay ahead of the curve. Whether it’s adapting to new traffic patterns or maintaining unmatched performance during peak periods, Tweakwise is committed to empowering your online store with solutions that make every conversion count.
For the Tweakwise Customer Success team, Black Week is surprisingly calm. By the time Black Friday arrives, most customers have meticulously fine-tuned their Tweakwise setups, ensuring everything runs smoothly. This preparation allows them to focus on other critical tasks, like assisting in warehouses or managing fulfillment processes during the event.
Interestingly, the lead-up to Black Week is where the real hustle happens. E-commerce teams work tirelessly to configure and refine their Tweakwise settings, ensuring every filter, search result, and merchandising rule is perfect.
We’ve also observed how diverse industries embrace Black Friday, from traditional retail to unexpected sectors like painting supplies and industrial products. This diversity highlights how, with the right tools, businesses from any sector can make Black Friday a resounding success.
We’re proud of our performance and look forward to helping your business thrive during the busiest times of the year.
